Violent Stray Bull Attack on Elderly Man and Child in Khajuha, Lucknow

In a distressing incident on Saturday evening, two stray bulls launched a brutal attack on 58-year-old Vijay Rastogi and his four-year-old grandson in the Khajuha area of Lucknow. The attack, which occurred during their evening walk, was captured on CCTV cameras, 

revealing the terrifying sequence of events. One bull charged at the duo from the front, while another struck from behind, tossing the elderly man to the ground. Local residents, including Ramesh Yadav, intervened swiftly with sticks to scare off the bulls, preventing further harm. Rastogi sustained serious injuries and was referred to the district hospital after initial treatment at a nearby facility. The child escaped with minor bruises.


Growing Concerns Over Stray Cattle in Urban Areas

The incident has intensified concerns among Khajuha residents about the increasing presence of stray cattle in urban neighborhoods. Despite repeated complaints to municipal authorities, effective measures to address the issue have been lacking. Abhinav Verma, the animal welfare officer from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, condemned the attack and assured that action would be taken against the negligent cattle owners allowing animals to roam freely. The community's frustration is palpable, with many calling for stricter enforcement of regulations to prevent such attacks in the future.

Following the attack, local authorities have initiated steps to address the situation. The bulls involved in the assault were identified as belonging to a local cattle owner, who had previously been reported for allowing his animals to roam unsupervised. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation has committed to capturing the bulls and taking appropriate action against the owner. This incident underscores the urgent need for effective management of stray cattle to ensure the safety of residents in urban areas.
