On the evening of September 6, 2025, a severe cloudburst occurred in the Naugaon block of Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. The intense rainfall, which began around 5:15 PM, led to flash floods that inundated homes and shops in the area.

Immediate Response and Evacuations
In response to the disaster, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami promptly contacted District Magistrate Prashant Arya, instructing him to initiate rescue and relief operations on a "war-footing."
Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), led by Inspector Rajesh Joshi, were dispatched to the affected areas. Their efforts focused on evacuating residents to safer locations and providing immediate assistance.
