Lucknow, 5 September 2025 — A deeply troubling video from the Amity University campus in Lucknow has shocked students, families, and authorities alike. On 26 August 2025, a law (LLB) student named Shikhar was brutally slapped 26 times inside a car by two classmates—one male and one female—while parked on campus grounds. The sight of violence shocked onlookers and stirred outrage across social media.
In the heart-wrenching video, Shikhar is seen shielding his face as the girl repeatedly lashes out, reportedly shouting “What did you say about ‘character’?,” while the male student threatens, “Will you talk about Janvi? Will you talk about Somiya?” The assault continued relentlessly until two other students urged the attackers to stop. In the chaos, attackers also seized Shikhar’s phone, deleted chats, and broke his SIM card. This incident has left him deeply traumatized.
Administration and Police React
Lucknow police confirmed that they have registered an FIR after receiving a formal complaint at Chinhat Police Station. Relevant legal action is under way. Meanwhile, an Amity University spokesperson told Dainik Bhaskar that the university is not yet aware of the video’s authenticity and will refrain from commenting until further verification.
What It Means and What Comes Next
This incident underscores deeper concerns on campuses across India: peer violence, misuse of authority, and emotional harm. When aggression replaces dialogue, even small disagreements can spiral out of control. The fact that the attack stemmed from what the attackers claimed were derogatory remarks about “character” makes the motive murky and more disturbing.
