On the morning of September 9, 2025, a tragic shooting occurred inside a hostel room at the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) in Greater Noida. The victims were identified as 22-year-old Deepak Kumar, an MBA student from Andhra Pradesh, and 23-year-old Devansh Chauhan, a PGDM student from Agra. Both were found with gunshot wounds in the same room, which was locked from the inside. Deepak succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Devansh was rushed to Kailash Hospital in critical condition.
Investigation and Findings
The police recovered a licensed revolver from the room, which had four live rounds remaining. Both students had sustained bullet injuries to the right side of their heads. Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events and the motive behind the shooting. Authorities have stated that there is no evidence of a group clash, and the incident appears to have been confined to the two individuals involved.
