According to police reports, the teenager stepped on or came into contact with the IED, which exploded and caused severe injuries to his legs and face. He was quickly taken to the Bijapur district hospital for treatment. Authorities have not shared updates on his current condition, but the injuries are described as serious.
Naxalites often plant IEDs on dirt paths and in forests to target security forces during anti-Naxal operations. However, civilians, including villagers and children, sometimes fall victim to these hidden explosives.
